The Kids with "Socks" upon out return.
What joy there is in our hearts as we look back to the incredible blessings of this last year!  We are so thankful to Him for guiding our family on furlough and putting so many people along our path that have been such a blessing.  We were invited to visit many cities all over the U.S. where our church friends and family encouraged us, blessed us, prayed with us and have promised to join us in the mighty work He is doing on the island of Hispaniola.  Having returned this month it has been overwhelming to see and share in the blessings of the Lord with those that have been so faithfully serving Him.  With the family now growing smaller, we are still trying to nail down a new place to live and are wheeling and dealing with several apartment managers.  One week we really thought we had “the place” but the owners were difficult to deal with so we moved on.

Our phones went down this week and a local neighborhood gang blocked off the barrio in which we are temporarily staying.  They burned tires, threw rocks and caused such a problem that the police shot into the crowd with special “shock rounds”.   It was a good reminder to Regina and I that things here are different and we have to walk a little more prudently, trusting Him but living Matthew 10:16.
